RPT MCK's 'IDK' isn't just a track to set a mood and press play. It sits on the album HVL, with music production by maiki and fujibynight, while the MV was built entirely in animation by Antiantiart. Behind the dark imagery is a story about memory, reality and the feeling of being stuck between things past. Listening says it best, so DETOON puts the official video right here.

Where does 'IDK' sit in HVL?

HVL was released by MCK in June 2026 (June 17) with 30 tracks, and 'IDK' is second in the tracklist. YouTube credits list Nghiêm Vũ Hoàng Long as composer, maiki and fujibynight on production, with guitar by Hoàng Tùng.

In the album's first days, 'IDK' became one of the noticed tracks. On June 23, Báo Xây dựng noted four HVL songs together in the Top 10 YouTube Charts it tracked, with 'IDK' at #4 at that moment. On Billboard Vietnam's Top Vietnamese Songs, 'IDK' later peaked at #11 in the week archived July 4, 2026. These are historical markers at each point, not current rankings.

The more interesting part is the MV

On audio alone, 'IDK' is part of HVL's musical world. But the MV takes it to another layer. Antiantiart — the studio behind the project — describes 'IDK' as the opening chapter of the HVL universe, told entirely in animation. That's worth focusing on more than parsing the lyrics, because the MV doesn't simply illustrate each line but builds its own visual world to tell a story.

A world between memory and the present

Per Antiantiart's official description, the story revolves around a relationship still haunting the character's mind, where the line between reality and memory keeps colliding. The character moves through spaces with odd signs; but what seems to be happening may just be the mind replaying what's gone. Antiantiart frames the central question as: is it still love, or just the feeling of being stuck between past and present? This is the studio's own interpretation of the project, not DETOON's speculation about MCK's personal life.

Alongside that, several domestic and international sources also note 'IDK' draws on anime influences and the spirit of Guts from the manga Berserk — the will to face challenges beyond control — with a dark, intense visual style. The two readings aren't mutually exclusive: one is the melancholic emotional tone the studio emphasizes, the other is the MV's visual material.

Why animation fits 'IDK'

Animation lets the MV do something live-action can't quite the same way: reality doesn't have to obey reality. Spaces can shift; a memory can appear as if it's happening; a sign can make viewers think they've grasped the story and then be thrown back into doubt. Antiantiart calls the MV's world a space steeped in melancholy and nostalgia. So animation isn't just decoration for the song — it becomes part of the storytelling.

Phương Vũ directs

Antiantiart's official project page lists Phương Vũ as director, with the studio handling directing, creative, post-production and production. Nor is it the first time Antiantiart has shaped HVL's visuals: the studio's 2026 project list also includes other MCK works like 'Mắt Môi Tay Chân', 'Xa Xôi', 'Nhìn Kẻ Thù Của Tao', 'Slippery' and the HVL trailer. Seen this way, 'IDK' doesn't exist as a fully separate visual project but sits within a broader visual system built around the album.

'IDK' also just reappeared on YouTube

There's a notable timing detail. On September 27, 2026, an 'IDK - MCK' version was posted on the MCK // Nger channel. YouTube Trending data saved by Top1Trend shows the video runs about 3 minutes 17 seconds and once sat at #3 Trending Vietnam on September 28. Some domestic sources say this is part of MCK re-uploading many HVL songs to YouTube after some had been removed, with some content adjustments. That explains why 'IDK' may appear under different uploads or versions in search — so prioritize MCK's official channel, not re-ups.

A work with two ways in

'IDK' can be approached simply as a song: earbuds in → press play → pick a mood. But the MV opens another way: look at the animation → follow the story → ask what's present and what's memory. That's why this shouldn't be written as 'IDK is good because the beat slaps' — too generic, and it misses the most distinctive thing the official source tells us: MCK has a song, but the visual team used it to open a door into a whole universe. And 'IDK' is only the first chapter.
